Borago officinalis - Borage 2g ORGANIC

ANNUAL growing to 0.6 m (2ft) by 0.3 m (1ft). Hardy to zone 7. It is in flower from June to October. A major source of nectar and pollen, it yields 200 pounds of honey per acre, and 60-160 pounds of pollen. One of the top bee plants. This is a useful and pretty garden herb with culinary and medicinal properties and invaluable as organic plant feed. This species self-seeds well even in poor soil so if you have a small garden it may need to be ‘managed’. The flowers are pollinated by Honeybees and Bumblebees. Produces POLLEN & NECTAR. It is noted for attracting wildlife. SEEDS 2g/£1.55 organic. (5-8g yields 100 plants. Sowing rate: 2-6 Kg/acre. Sow when soil is warm in April/May at a drill depth of 2cm)
