NATIVE ANNUAL WILDFLOWER growing to 1 m (3ft 3in) by 0.3 m (1ft). Hardy to zone 3. It is in flower from June to August. A major source of nectar (and some pollen), it yields 100-150 pounds of honey per acre. Unfortunately seen as an arable weed, this amazing flower has been virtually eradicated through herbicide use. Used as a mouthwash or eyewash, and for edible blue food colouring. The flowers are pollinated by Bees, flies, lepidoptera, self. Produces POLLEN & NECTAR. It is noted for attracting wildlife.
