Hardy to zone 5. It is in flower in February to April, and the edible fruits ripen from November to January. A profusion of bright orangey-red flowers develop into round, yellow apple-like fruit. The fruit is eaten cooked, often in jams or jellies, mixed with other fruits, and can be used like lemon-juice when raw. The flowers are pollinated by Bees. Produces POLLEN & NECTAR.
