NATIVE DECIDUOUS TREE growing to 15 m (49ft) by 7 m (23ft). Hardy to zone 2. It is in flower from May to June, and the fruits ripen from August to September. Fruit is eaten raw or cooked (but always removing the seeds which are not edible) to make delicious, if slightly acid, jams and preserves or dried and used as a flour mixed with cereals. The white flowers produce POLLEN & NECTAR. ! The tree ALSO PRODUCES PROPOLIS! – and is seen as a major melliferous species. It is noted for attracting wildlife. SEEDLING pot grown 10-40cm £2.00
